Background

Shanita stays with her mother in a slum area of Kawempe together with her elder siblings.

Shanita’s father left for Sudan about 8 years ago and they have never heard from him since then. The family do not know whether he is alive or dead ashe abadoned Shanita ever since then.

Shanita’ s mother fries morning snacks like sambuusas, chapatis, doughnuts which she sells from her veranda outside her home.

Shanita and her family stay in one roomed home and the house rent is contributed by one of her elder children and Shanita’s mother because the mother can not afford it alone.

Shanita was first sponsored in 2023 and her sponsorship ended early this year and she can not be able to continue with her education.

Shanita is looking for a sponsor that can help her resume school and continue with her education.
