At the recently concluded East African Female Games held at Makerere University, one young woman stood out not just for her skill, but for her story of resilience, passion, and purpose

Patience, a student of Makerere University Business School (MUBS), represented her institution in the chess category and brought home more than just a trophy she brought pride, inspiration, and a renewed sense of what is possible.

Patience 2Patience competed fiercely and intelligently on the chessboard, ultimately emerging 2nd on board and contributing significantly to her university’s achievement of 3rd place overall in the university category. Her performance earned her a trophy, and even more importantly, reaffirmed the value of sports, especially chess, as a tool for empowerment and education.

What makes her story even more remarkable is that Patience is currently on sponsorship at MUBS because of her chess talent. Her journey is a powerful reminder that passion, when nurtured and supported, can open doors to education and opportunity.

We at Help Africa are incredibly proud of Patience. Her success story is not only hers, but it also belongs to every young girl watching and believing that they, too, can change their lives with focus and determination.

As we continue to support children and youth in their educational journeys, we celebrate with champions like Patience who show us what’s possible when potential meets opportunity.

Congratulations, Patience, you make us proud!
