Every year, the Help Africa Foundation hosts a huge Christmas party for the children, bringing them together as one family with their siblings and friends. Each celebration welcomes children who are experiencing a Christmas Party for the very first time, giving them the opportunity to enjoy and share in the joy with the rest of the children.

This year, the excitement was visible long before the day arrived. The children eagerly looked forward to Christmas, knowing it would be a special day filled with fun, good food, drinks, and enjoyable activities. There were plenty of sweets, ice cream, sodas, and a variety of delicious meals.

One of the highlights of the day was the Christmas cake, which was lovingly prepared by the children themselves under the guidance of our dedicated volunteer, Mailah. This activity brought great excitement and pride, as the children felt truly involved in the celebration.

On Friday, 12th December 2025, a total of 300 children arrived at the Help Africa compound as early as 10:00 am, full of excitement and anticipation. As music filled the air, children began arriving with their siblings and friends, ready for a memorable celebration that continued until 6:00 pm. We were especially pleased to welcome five (5) children from Buyiga Island who attended the Christmas Party for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the celebration.

Throughout the day, the compound was alive with laughter, joy and celebration. The children participated in a wide range of activities, including skipping rope, glass choosing competition, creative dance, identifying colour competition, chair dancing competition, dancing competitions and miming performances of their favourite songs. Some children even confidently performed their own original songs. The younger children especially enjoyed face painting, taking photos to capture special memories, and playing together on the bouncing castle, and following Santa around with excitement.

Lunch was served at 2:00 p.m., where each child enjoyed a full buffet meal consisting of rice, green bananas (matooke), beef, chicken, Irish potatoes, groundnuts, fruits and other food items. The meal was accompanied by sodas and other drinks such as water, ensuring that every child felt well cared for.

The Christmas party was more than just a celebration, it was a moment of dignity, inclusion, and happiness for children who rarely get such experiences. Many of the children expressed their joy and gratitude, and for some, it was the first time they had ever celebrated Christmas in such a joyful and well-organized way.

We are deeply grateful to our donors, volunteers, and friends who made this special day possible. Our heartfelt thanks go to our Executive Director, Kim Madsen; friends of Help Africa including Barbara Collins, Elizabeth Hardie, Lejf Madsen, Paul Van, Henric Sandbag, Hanne Al Rashadi and Kokku Inc; our dear sponsor families Christian Bondo, Thompson Keating, Ignacio Muñoz Campano, Veronika Tye, Sarah Marie, and Kim Skovsen; as well as the Rotary Club of Marbella, Café Danes, and Kim’s friends.

Your continued support enables us to create safe spaces where children can simply be children, feel loved, and create lasting memories. We look forward to your continued partnership as we continue spreading hope, joy, and opportunity to the children under the Help Africa Foundation.
