Halima’s father was poisoned and died in 2013.She stays with her mother and two siblings in a small single room. In order to be able to look after the children, Halima’s mother used to sell cooked maize along side the street but she and other vendors were stopped by the authorities because this is illegal. She then resorted to doing any kind of casual work in the slum like washing people’s clothes but what she earns is very little to take care of the basic needs of the family and also save for the children’s school fees.
Before she was sponsored in 2015. the child had spent some years without going to school because her mother could not afford to support her education.
Halima lost her sponsor in 2017 and right now, she is in search of a sponsor to help her continue with her education.
